Hair Transplantation and Hair Loss Treatments

FUE hair transplant

FUE hair transplant, also known as follicular unit extraction hair transplant, is a minimally invasive hair restoration procedure that involves removing individual hair follicles from a donor area and transplanting them to the bald or thinning areas of the scalp.

FUE is a popular hair restoration technique because it has a shorter recovery time compared to other methods like strip harvesting.

During the FUE procedure, a surgeon will use a small, specialized tool to extract individual hair follicles from the donor area, typically located on the back or sides of the scalp. These follicles are then transplanted to the bald or thinning areas of the scalp using small incisions. The entire procedure is performed under local anesthesia, and the patient can usually return home the same day.

DHI hair transplant

DHI hair transplant, also known as direct hair implantation, is a hair restoration technique that involves the use of a specialized tool to directly implant hair follicles into the bald or thinning areas of the scalp.

This technique is different from traditional hair transplant methods like FUE, as it eliminates the need for creating incisions or channels in the scalp.

During the DHI hair transplant procedure, the surgeon will use a specialized tool called a Choi pen to extract and implant individual hair follicles. The Choi pen has a hollow needle attached to it, which is used to extract hair follicles from the donor area. The same pen is then used to implant the follicles into the recipient area, with a high level of precision and control.
